How the media tools work

Pick a tool, drop a local file, and run it on your machine — with a before/after compare and a one-click download. No upload, no watermark.

Pick a tool

Browse Video, Audio, Image and GIF categories. Sibling tools stay in a sidebar so you can switch fast, and a step-by-step flow shows exactly what to do.

Drop a file

Choose or drag a local file. It loads into a private in-browser workspace — your media never leaves the device.

Choose a model (AI)

For AI tools, pick Fast, Balanced or High quality. Models download once and are cached; a settings panel shows what's downloaded and lets you delete it.

Run & download

See the result in a before/after compare — a wipe slider for images, side-by-side for video and audio — then download.

Video & audio tools

Fast, format-flexible editing powered by FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly — running locally in the tab.

On-device AI

Open-source models run on your machine with transformers.js and WebGPU — pick the quality you want, and keep every file private.

Media tools — FAQ

Are the media tools free and private?

Yes. Every tool runs entirely in your browser, so your video, audio and images are never uploaded to a server. slicerflow is free, open source and needs no account.

How does the AI run without uploading my files?

The AI models run on your own device with transformers.js, using WebGPU when available and falling back to WebAssembly. Only the public model weights are downloaded once from a CDN and cached in your browser — your media stays local.

Can I choose the model quality?

Yes. Each AI tool offers Fast, Balanced and High presets that map to different model sizes — Fast is quickest, High is the most accurate but larger to download. A settings panel shows which models are already downloaded and lets you delete them to free space.

How do I remove the background from an image?

Open the 🎛️ Media tab, choose Remove Background, drop an image, pick a model quality and run it. The subject is cut out with a transparent background you can download as a PNG — all on your device.

Can I generate subtitles from a video or audio file?

Yes. The Subtitles / Speech-to-Text tool transcribes a local audio or video file with Whisper and exports .srt, .vtt or plain text — in the browser, with no upload.

Which video and audio operations are supported?

Compress, convert, trim, resize, rotate, flip, change speed, reverse, crop and mute video; extract audio; convert, trim, change volume, normalize and reverse audio; and convert between video and GIF — all via FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly.
